Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of CV Forge (the "Service"), an online tool that allows users to create, edit, store, and tailor curriculum vitae ("CV") and cover letter documents. The Service is provided by Pyre AS, organisation number 938 384 843, registered in Oslo, Norway ("we", "us", "our"), and operated at https://cvforge.dev and related subdomains.
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Service.
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old, and that you remain so for the duration of your use of the Service.
The Service
The Service enables you to input, upload, and edit personal and professional information (for example name, contact details, address, work history, education, and skills) in order to generate CV and cover letter documents. The Service uses third-party AI models to prompt you for detail and to tailor those documents, so that your suitability for a given job posting is presented more clearly.
We offer both free and paid tiers. Paid tiers require valid payment details as described in Section 6.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where a change materially affects paid features, we will give reasonable notice.
The Service assists you in preparing job application documents. It does not guarantee any particular outcome, and you remain responsible for reviewing every document before you send it to anyone.
Account registration
To use certain features you must register an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that takes place under your account.
You must notify us promptly at support@pyre.no if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
Personal data
To provide the Service we collect and process personal data, including your account details, the content of the CVs you create, payment details, and technical data such as IP address and log data. How we collect, use, share, and retain that data, the legal bases we rely on, and the rights you hold over it are set out in full in our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms by reference. Where these Terms and the Privacy Policy differ on a point of data protection, the Privacy Policy governs.
You can exercise your data protection rights, including access, correction, and deletion, by contacting privacy@pyre.no. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
User content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of the content you put into your CV ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, reproduce, and display User Content solely in order to provide and improve the Service.
You represent that:
- All information you submit about yourself is accurate, and you have the right to submit it;
- If you enter personal data about a third party, for example a referee's contact details, you have their permission to do so and have told them how their data may be used; and
- Your use of the Service will not break any applicable law or infringe anyone else's rights.
A CV can inadvertently contain special category data, for example a photograph revealing ethnicity, dates that reveal age, or references to health, religion, or trade union membership. You decide what to include and are responsible for that choice. We neither require nor request special category data, and we recommend you leave it out unless it is necessary.
You must not use the Service to upload unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or misleading content, or to impersonate another person.
Payment terms
Certain features require payment of the fees displayed at the time of purchase, inclusive or exclusive of applicable taxes as indicated at checkout.
By providing payment details, you confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you have given.
Subscription fees are billed on a recurring monthly basis until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until then.
Payment processing. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. By submitting payment details, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms.
Refunds. Fees are non-refundable except where refund is required by applicable consumer protection law, or where we grant one at our discretion. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase of digital content within 14 days, unless you expressly asked for immediate performance and acknowledged that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal. Because the Service is made available immediately on purchase, you will be asked to give that acknowledgement at checkout.
We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Continued use after the change takes effect counts as acceptance of the new price.
Failure to pay may result in suspension of your account, or its downgrade to the free tier.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, templates, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. User Content is excluded from this and remains yours.
You may use the CV templates provided through the Service to create your own personal CV. You may not redistribute or resell them, or use them to build a competing service.
Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access controls on our database, and restricted administrative access.
If a data breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of employment opportunities arising from the use of a CV generated through the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or gross negligence, or for your statutory data protection rights.
Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, except where such a limit is prohibited by law.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting support@pyre.no.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if you engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Your data is then handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give notice of material changes by email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that point counts as acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oslo, Norway. As a consumer you keep any right you have under applicable law to bring proceedings in your own country of residence. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
